BULLETIN UPDATES To try and present the information a little better we've altered the bulletin into 'news and information' and 'actions'. Hope this helps.
PROUD I would just like to share that a number of times this week, I've showed a range of people around the school and each time it makes me incredibly proud to show off the school and show the wonderful work that's going on.
THANK YOU to all staff that have had to step up over the past few weeks due to colleague absences. It is greatly appreciated.
YELLOW/RED CARDS It is vital that all yellow and red cards are recorded onto SIMS. They provide a record for behaviour across the school and are used to evaluate overall behaviour. If you need reminding about how to complete the behaviour report on SIMS - please let MK or GW know. It will take about 2 minutes to complete.
ANTI-BULLYING WEEK - ODD SOCKS DAY A letter has gone home for children (and staff!!) to wear odd socks on Monday. You should also have a sheet for each child to complete on Monday morning before assembly please. They have to think of something kind to say to someone this week. It doesn't need to take a full lesson - just a nice short discussion. Then I will base my assembly on this on Monday. Thank you.
CHILDREN IN NEED - Next Friday is a non uniform day. £1 donations please. If you wish to do a short fun activity then you may, although it's not compulsory. Joe Wicks will be doing something online if you would like to join in.
OPEN MORNING is next Thursday between 9 and 10am. We currently have very few parents signed up but School Councillors will be showing them around as per usual.
CURRICULUM CONVERSATIONS A reminder that our school improvement partner from the local authority, Vinny Howarth, will be joining us all day next Thursday for 'curriculum conversations'. He is doing a piece of work to help support the school in identifying areas of strength and areas for development - particularly in relation to subject leadership and curriculum. You will see him around the school for the whole day. The dates he'll be here are as follows:
Thursday 18th Nov - Whole Curriculum, Reading, English
Tuesday 23rd November - Maths, Computing, Art & DT
Tuesday 30th November - History, PSHE/SRE, Science, Geography
TA APPRAISALS Over the next 3 weeks appraisals will take place for all TA's. MK and GW will lead all appraisals and the focus will be about how we can support your professional development and how you can help move the school forward in regards to the school improvement plan and current school priorities. Timetables will be placed in the staffroom asap for staff to sign up to a 30 minute slot. Once signed up, please arrange your own cover (if required) and let us know if you have any problems.
CHOIR is now going to be on Fridays rather than Monday.

TEACHER DROP INS Over the next 3 weeks (1 week has just passed) we would like every teacher to drop in on two other colleagues for 20 minutes of an English lesson. The idea is to share good practice and have a professional discussion about what you have seen. Due to recent training the focus is to be on 'writing'. Please organise between yourselves and then arrange cover when required. At the end of the 4 weeks we'll be asking for feedback on the impact the visit has had on your teaching.
NATIONAL COLLEGE Please make sure you go onto the National College and watch the training videos that have been set. Prevent training should have been completed by all members of staff before half term. Where possible, arrange with other members of the class for cover so that time can be spent watching the training.
FIRST AID TRAINING from the National College is to be completed before the end of November by all members of staff that are not first aiders.

COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.

Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.

✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
