VISUALISER AND PLANNING A quick note about something that Joe and Gemma P brought up in SLT earlier this week. They were finding that as they use their visualisers more to deliver lessons they were duplicating work for themselves and over preparing slides. My response to this is to not duplicate work and only prepare on the slides the things absolutely necessary such as LI's / key questions. You can also take a snapshot of any work produced via the visualiser and paste it into the slide. When monitoring, we look at a range of evidence rather than just a flipchart.
PARENT NEWSLETTER I know most do, but please please read the parent newsletter as it sometimes has information in it that we don't duplicate in this bulletin.
MOBILE PHONES Just to clarify last week's message around phones. Phones are OK in classrooms, offices and the staffroom. However, in shared areas - with children present, they shouldn't be used.
REMEMBER, REMEMBER DAY Zara has sent an email to teachers about the theme day next week. Zara will deliver a short assembly on Wednesday morning to kickstart the day.
CHILDREN IN NEED NON-UNIFORM is on Friday for £1. It doesn't need to be anything fancy - but if you want to go for it with the spots, then feel free!
Y6 BREAKFAST BOOSTER CLASSES Are due to start next week with the fabulous Mrs Naughton. Year 6 children are welcomed in from 8.15. They will be in the ICT suite - so please socially distance and allow a quiet working environment.
CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS Unfortunately, due to lockdown we may not be able to have any planned performances (i.e. nativity). The planned pantomime trip is also up in the air at the moment. We hope that we'll be able to attend!
SECRET SANTA has now been drawn. A reminder that it's a £10 limit and we'll share presents at some point in the final week of term.
NEW OFFICE APPRENTICE has been appointed. We would like to welcome Amie Pearson to the team - she'll be joining us in January.
TEACHERS' LUNCH DUTY We would like to continue with teachers doing a 'lunch duty' each week on their PPA day as arranged before if possible (and enjoy a yummy free lunch)! What we need you guys to focus on is being with the children outside from 12.45-1.15 on the playground. Please could you encourage them to play games and try the PE challenge of the week. Please look out for behavioural incidents and support with the social skills around preventing these. Thank you!
SEMH TIP OF THE WEEK Do some children find it difficult sitting at a desk and concentrating for long periods of time? To reduce this restlessness, intersperse your lessons with brain breaks, which are short bursts of activity to keep their brain and body active. Here are 8 different brain breaks for you to try: https://mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk/media/2210/rebuild-and-recover-brain-breaks.pdf
EXTRA PE LESSONS are being organised by Mrs Price. You be timetabled and have a list of activities to get active!
READING SPONSORSHIP Please order more Usborne books!! To around £180 per class :)
RISK ASSESSMENT UPDATES Please wear face coverings everywhere except your own bubble.
INDEPENDENT WRITING 2nd REMINDER Please photocopy an example of a marked piece of independent writing for Mrs Whalen. Thank you.
THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Last night, I dreamed I was swimming in an ocean of orange soda. But it was just a Fanta sea.

If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
