THIS WEEK'S NEWS

HUGE THANK YOU to all the staff who gave up time over the weekend to help move furniture back into classrooms. It is really appreciated and meant the job could get done incredibly quickly.
EGGS/BONNETS ASSEMBLY As usual we would like staff to vote on their favourite designs in each year group, with the winners to be announced in the Easter Service. I'd love someone to then count up the votes ready for the winners to be announced on Friday.
EASTER ASSEMBLY We're going to have an Easter and achievement assembly on Friday because we're not able to go to church. It will include the prize draws, egg/bonnet winners, Spring Chicken and Fr. Philip. There's nothing to prepare for classes.
HUMANITIES DAY EXPECTATIONS ZM has sent out further information about Humanities day next Wednesday. If you have any questions, please speak to Zara.
PPA CHANGES They have changed next week for a number of reasons! Please see the calendar!
DEPUTY HEAD APPOINTMENT PROCESS will take place on Tuesday. Interviews will be held in Year 1 classroom on Tuesday so please don't walk through here. There will be 4 candidates wandering around and dropping in on lessons throughout the morning. There will be 3 governors and
UPDATED STAFF PLAYGROUND ROTA is now up in the staff room.
iPHONES are now being kept near the iPads in the hall - just let SH know if you need one so it is charged up ready.
TA2 INTERVENTION SHARING will take place on Wednesday at 2pm in the Blue room with Gemma.
GUIDED READING PARENT READING DROP-INS will be re-arranged for after Easter.
GOODBYE DAVE Thanks so much for all your hard work over the past couple of years. Good luck in your new position. You'll be missed.
GOODBYE SUE Sue Green will be coming for lunch on the final day of term so she can say her final farewells. DJ has the collection envelope for her.
THANK YOU MICHELLE It's Michelle's final day on Wednesday. Thanks to Michelle for all your help and support over the last couple of terms. You'll be missed by both staff and children.
CLUBS FOR SUMMER TERM The sign-up form will be going out on Monday with clubs ready to start on the first day back. Chat with JS if there are any issues.
EASTER BINGO A reminder that this is tonight at 7pm and staff are welcome to attend to help out! Thank you in advance to all of those that come along and help.
FIRE DRILL is due before we finish for Easter. Please remind the children of the procedure and let any new staff know what is expected.

TEACHING AND LEARNING

TEACHER ASSESSMENT AND EFFORT GRADES Due to the flooding, I am moving the deadline back a week to Friday 5th April (last day). Spring term reports will then be sent out the first Wednesday back on Wednesday 24th April. This gives the time needed to complete any assessments and target sheets can be copied in the final week of term.
MATHS TESTS Next week is timetabled for the White Rose Hub Maths Tests to support with teacher assessment for the Spring Term. Please complete the two papers and record results onto SIMS. All tests are on the staff drive.
READING HALF TERMLY TESTS are due to be completed and results input onto SIMS. These will be the relevant Bug Club tests.
READING BOOK BANDS Please record on SIMS the current book band of all children in your class. Teachers, please ask TA's to complete the task.
MONITORING We're still on catch up now! The planned monitoring schedule will continue with 'how effective is feedback' next week. However, the missed monitoring will be rescheduled for after easter.

OUR VISION FOR MATHS See screenshots below showing a guide for how we would like maths lessons to be structured, although this doesn't need to be followed exactly each lesson - Laura liked how each teacher personalised their lessons unlike her own school which are more regimented.

CARETAKER Mr Henson will be returning as our caretaker from Monday April 1st
WAGE SLIPS will be emailed to your work email address from the summer. Any questions, speak to Karen.
BEHAVIOR INCIDENTS / YELLOW / RED CARDS Updated cards are now in the staffroom. These can be filled in by any member of staff. Once filled in they need to be passed to the school office who will record the incident onto SIMS. It is the class teachers responsibility to ensure it's given to the office and recorded. The new 'behaviour incident' slips are for those occasions that don't warrant a yellow card but the incident needs logging.
BAR MODELLING REMINDER
PE NOMINATION In assembly, the children were shown how to nominate another pupil for a Kids4Kids Award. The award is being run by EdStart - our PE providers. Children nominate a pupil that they feel show commitment and attitude to sport. Nominations can also be received from teachers. There are some lovely prizes that can be won - which will announced just before Easter.
EXTRA WEDNESDAY PE LESSONS are now timetabled into the school calendar once every three weeks for classes. I know it's cold but you must give your pupils the opportunity for the extra PE lesson! Planning is available on the staff drive - alternatively, chat to Jenny and she'll let you know where they're up too.

A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.

Health and Safety

LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.

Safeguarding

If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.

Pupil Voice

TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.

Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.

Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.

Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Carolyn (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Jane (Deputy DSL) immediately. If they're not available please see MK or GW.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.

✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE

✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.

✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.

✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .

✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.

✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
