- TEACHER ASSESSMENTS AND EFFORT GRADES are due onto the system today!
- EFFORT GRADE MARKSHEETS for different classes can be found by going to Focus > Assessment > Marksheets on SIMS.
- AUTUMN TERM REPORTS - with photocopied target sheets will be sent out on Thursday 20th December. These will along with the annotated READING, WRITING AND MATHS TARGET SHEETS. A FAQ will also be sent with the report with details about the target sheets.
- PUPIL PROGRESS MEETINGS will be taking place after Christmas. Please can teachers complete the three forms for reading, writing and maths before the meetings. I'm going to do something a little different than previously done and ask for you to bring the books and target sheets for any pupil that you are worried about. This will help focus the discussion on next steps in their learning.
- CHURCH SERVICE We'll start walking at 9.30am next week in the usual order. Please can the choir sit at the front of church. In the service there'll be lots of hymns and songs with performances from the choir and KS1. Y6 will be reading. It will probably last around an hour. - GOOD LUCK to Reception, Y1 and Y2 in next week's nativity performances. You've all worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks and we're sure they're going to be a huge success.
- CHOIR AT NATIVITIES At the end of each of the nativities the choir will be singing to parents whilst the children get changed. Siblings may also be picked up earlier than normal - be prepared for disruption!
- PPA Just to let you know that there PPA for PE but no planned computing PPA next week. However, there’ll be no planning required. To give yourself a little bit of time, feel free to place classes together when watching a DVD in the last couple of days.
- CHRISTMAS PARTIES Children are to come to school in their party clothes and parties will take place all week.
- EXTRA-CURRICULAR CLUBS SPRING TERM will be sent out to parents on Monday at 3.15pm. This is so that clubs can start immediately after Christmas.
- MEMORIAL SERVICE We will be having a special service in school this Thursday 19th December at 11am. At the service Father Philip will be blessing a plaque with Scott Hetherington's and Lee Rigby's name on. We're not advertising it to parents as we want to keep it as a small school event and we can't physically fit in the number of people that could potentially attend. Due to the nature of the service, only KS2 classes will be attending. However, if KS1 staff that knew/taught Scott want to attend, please arrange your own cover for the duration of the service. Plans for the service are still ongoing!!
- TOGETHER We will be singing the song at the memorial service. Please practice the song 'Together' when you get the opportunity.
- SECRET SANTA will take place next Friday at 2pm - during achievement assembly. Please place any presents in the bags in Marc's office in the days beforehand.
- MICHELLE WILD will only be working in school two days a week after Christmas rather than the current three. She'll be in on a Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result, cover will be affected and there'll fewer opportunities for teacher CPD until Jane returns.
- CHRISTMAS FAIR We raised a massive £1012.70 at last week's Christmas Fair. Huge thanks to all that supported the event and a special thanks to the PTA for their organisation. This money will be spent on the whole school trip to the panto. Thanks again.
- DECORATIONS & STAGE Any help to take the stage down on Wednesday night would be appreciated. Please take classroom decorations down and put them in clearly labelled bags in the hall on Thursday night so they can be put in the loft on Friday.

- READING HALF-TERMLY TESTS are to be completed over the next few weeks. The bug club test that children are to complete are on the staffroom wall. Please record results on SIMS.
- MATHS TERMLY TESTS are to be completed over the next few weeks. It's the White Rose Hub tests on the staff drive. Each year group has an arithmetic and reasoning paper to complete. Please record results on SIMS.
- STAFF MEETING next week is time to plan within your unit for next term's Science work. Remember to plan some fabulous BIG FINISHES!
- MATHS I do, we do, you do…a reminder from staff meeting.
- READING BOOK BAND TRACKER Teachers, you may have noticed a new marksheet appear in SIMS. This is the reading book band tracker that we are going to use to track which book band each child is on at the end of each term. We will remind you each term but it can be completed by yourself or by a TA. We've introduced the tracker to give us an oversight to which books children are on across the school.

- 2ESKIMOS The online reading test is going to be used by Y1, 2 and 6 initially. Once we've seen the data it produces we will roll it out to other year groups.
- YELLOW AND RED CARDS need to be recorded on SIMS. Please speak to MK if you require any support.

- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
