SUMMER BUILDINGS WORKS For info, there will be works completed over the first few weeks of the Summer holidays on the Reception classroom.
HELP NEEDED Due to the building works being completed on the Reception classroom, we need help in quickly clearing the classroom furniture and resources the day after we finish on Wednesday 21st July. Overtime payments will be made to any TAs that can come in and help. We're hoping that it will only take a full morning of moving furniture from the Reception Classroom into the hall. If you can help, please let MK know asap and thanks in advance.
CLASS MOVE UP DAY is next Friday. To reduce risk as much as possible, teachers/TAs will move to their new classes. Keep any activities as fun and light hearted as possible - maybe even create a display if you're feeling brave - save the classroom rules talk for September! However, to ensure you don't become a contact of that bubble please stay behind your red line for the majority of time and keep a face mask on.
COVID RISK ASSESSMENT Please continue to remain vigilant. Thank you.
MATHS PASSPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS These are due to take place on the 13th, 14th and 15th of July. The two competing classes will come into the hall each morning next week. Unfortunately, other classes are unable to watch.
REPORTS Thanks for the hard work in completing, proof reading and getting ready. MK will contact you if any information is missing. The office will be printing out the reports ready to be collated and sent out. They will be sent out next 'Thursday' if all are ready in time.
STAFF MEETING TASK REMINDER During last week's staff meeting all teachers were asked to find a _.3, _.5 and an _.7 piece of work to copy for the green English file along with a copy of the completed target card. Please scan and send a copy of this to Joe and GW for monitoring too.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK A lot of football success is in the mind. You must believe you are the best and then make sure that you are.
STAFF MEETING Is looking at the curriculum for 2021-22. Although it hasn't been finalised, we'll share with you the plans for September. There are a few changes being made and many of these are to address the issues that had been mentioned in the online curriculum review. Some of these changes include:
Weekly teaching of Science, Geography/History, DT/Art
Geography and History units to be taught over a term
Reduction in the number of 'core lessons' to be taught in the Cornerstones units
FRIDAY FORUM Retrieval – Discussion / Sharing Best Practice
CURRICULUM SITE Have a read of the updated curriculum website. It's been updated considerably over the past couple of months. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
RETRIEVAL PRACTICE WEBSITE Some interesting research papers and practical guidance can be found here: https://www.retrievalpractice.org/library
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
ZPD NUMBERS Please explain to children how they use 'decimal numbers' to check that they understand HOW to choose a book that is in their ZPD range. We will circulate a poster to be displayed near your bookshelf, which may also help any children who are struggling with decimal numbers.
LFD TESTING Please continue to take the tests and submit your results to https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result . Karen Slatford needs to know about any tests that come back as inconclusive.
TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing. It's great to see and is a quick way to demonstrate to parents and the school community the work taking place across the school.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
