- WRITING MODERATION I've emailed out to teachers from all schools involved a questionnaire for feedback. Please complete it and let me know what you thought.
- STAFF WORKLOAD QUESTIONNAIRE It's that time of year where I'd like to know what you think about workload/work-life balance. Staff welfare is incredibly important and your honest views would be much appreciated to ensure we are constantly monitoring and improving as a school in this area. Please find time to complete over the next month. There's no rush!
- HOLIDAY OPENING School will be closed over the holidays!
- EMOTIONAL LITERACY Can Y3-6 please complete these at some point just after the holidays and pass back to SH.
- LEARNING LOGS are to be marked and then new ones sent out by the first Friday back after half term. As usual, the template can be found on the staff drive.
- CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS (For the last time!) These need to be on the Staff Drive by 5pm on Thursday 6th June. They can then be checked, placed on the website and emailed out to parents.
- REPORTS Some important dates teachers need to remember are as follows:
- Friday 28th June – Assessment Deadline (all data on SIMS)
- Wednesday 26th June – Staff Meeting – Report Writing
- Wednesday 3rd July – Staff Meeting - Report Buddies
- Monday 8th July – Reports to CJP
- Monday 15th July – Reports to parents
- Tuesday 16th July - Parent Drop Ins
- Y3 CLASS ASSEMBLY Thanks to Y3 and Nicola on a fabulous class assembly.
- TRIP REQUESTS Please pass on your suggestions to JS ASAP so they can be booked. We would like each class to have one trip and one visitor per term.
- NEW SLT IN SEPTEMBER Well done and thank you to LC and JB who will be new members of the SLT from 1st September. Our new SLT will therefore consist of Mr Kemp (Headteacher), Mrs Whalen (Deputy), Mr Barnes, Miss Cummins, Mrs Bracken (Business Manager) and Mrs Steele (DSL).
- TA2s A reminder that after half term TA's in KS2 will be moving down year groups. (ES-Y5, SN-Y4, LG-Y3). Although it's not ideal, it does give a opportunity to improve transition for the children and ensures staff are well prepared for intervention in September.
- SPELLING BEE FINALISTS Thanks for getting the names of the finalists to me. Letters and spelling lists should now have been sent home for pupils to practice.
- LEARNING ENVIRONMENT MK/CJP will be monitoring how effective it is at supporting the Parkfield ethos.
- ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 2019-20 MK will be speaking to all staff individually before Tues 2nd July (transition day) to discuss roles and responsibilities in readiness for September.
- FIRE DRILL Well done for the quick response to the drill earlier on this week. There were no issues from the drill so well done everyone on getting the children out quickly and calmly.
- HALF TERM Wishing you all a wonderful and restful half term.

- CURRICULUM SITE Many thanks for all the efforts on the curriculum site over the past few weeks. It's looking great. This will replace the curriculum overviews and will ensure all teachers are clear about what is being delivered and when. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
- READING TESTS Please ensure results are recorded onto SIMS. Tests can be sent home once marked and analysed for areas of improvement.
- TEST PAPERS SENT HOME Can all classes, except Y2, send home tests once they have been completed and used for assessments/intervention/QLA purposes. There's no use in keeping tests afterward, but parents can use them to support their children .
- MONITORING We're still on catch up !

REMINDERS
- SAFEGUARDING As part of our commitment to keeping children safe, we are proud to be part of Operation Encompass. Operation Encompass is a unique Police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse. Being part of Encompass means our school will receive a notification from Greater Manchester Police before the start of the next school day when a child or young person has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident the previous day. The information is given in confidence to the school's Key Adult and will enable us to provide the best possible support for the child. The Key Adults at our school are Miss Steele and myself. If you have any questions or wish to know more about our involvement in Operation Encompass, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
- KNOWLEDGE ORGANISERS Simon has started on a templates for knowledge organisers as some are difficult to find online. They can be found in O:\2019-2020. They're not compulsory at the moment and you can still download copies from the Internet. However, over time we will try and get a more consistent format.
- TEACHER APPOINTMENTS September, meaning that classes will be:
- Reception - Mrs Gooding
- Year 1 - Mrs Gemma Price
- Year 2 - Miss Cummins
- Year 3 - Mrs Bradwell
- Year 4 - Mr Ben Howson
- Year 5 - Mrs Acil
- Year 6 - Mr Barnes
This is STC if we get any last minute changes! We will let the parents and children know after the half term regarding the classes teachers will be in.
- BAR MODELLING REMINDER
- Spring and Summer: One session per week taught to targeted pupils
- WB 23rd April: Review of intervention/additional support and training (if required)
- WB 8th July: Targeted pupils complete assessment to see impact of intervention.
Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
- Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Carolyn or Jane.
- If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
- Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
- Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Pupil Voice
- TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
