- WE'RE BACK Welcome back everyone! It's been a great week for us all (most) to get back into routine, see each other and to see the children again.
- THANK YOU I fully understand that, in the current climate, staff would have felt apprehensive and anxious about the return to work this week. However, you have all responded brilliantly and the school has felt positive and our children have been happy to attend. Thanks to all of you for your hard work and effort at this difficult and strange time.
- PARKFIELD VALUES We wanted a set of values that represented what Parkfield is all about. The previous believe, achieve, succeed sounded nice but didn't actually support us in behaviour expectations across the school. These updated values are the behaviours that we want to see from pupils and staff when walking through the the door and in the classrooms of the school. After questioning the whole school community we've come up with.
We are PARKfielders: Positive, Ambitious, Resilient, Kind.
There's lots of work that we will be doing around these values but for now you'll see some displays changing around the school promoting these values. Huge thanks to Simon for these.
- TA2 ROLE Congratulations to Lindsay Dippnall who was successful appointed as a TA2 during half term. Lindsay will be working in Y5 from September and the position is temporary for 12 months.
- SCHOOL BASED TASKS This week has demonstrated that we have a fabulous staff and at times we don't need to have 2 members of staff in a class at all times. As a result, please feel free to complete additional jobs that you know need completing in preparation for when the school opens to more pupils (hopefully September). These may include:
- Preparing classrooms for September - including displays
- Updating displays in shared areas around the school
- Tidying and clearing cupboards
- Tidying resources and checking orders for September
- Tidy shared areas etc.
- TA1 POSITIONS There are 3 TA1 temporary positions now advertised for September 2020 on the greaterjobs website. https://www.greater.jobs/search-and-apply/job-details/RO-38419/ These include a replacement for Hayley, cover for Lindsay and for someone to support our two children coming into reception with an EHCP.
- HOME PACKS These packs will be collected by parents on Monday and Tuesday next week. A huge thanks to the 'homelearning' working group that co-ordinated our new and improved approach.
- HOMELEARNING As a result of the packs going home the main focus each day for homelearning will be: responding to pupils, setting whiterose maths, setting LbQ (Y5&6).
- ZOOM CALLS A reminder that Zoom calls will now be taking place on a Friday at a particular time for your class. There is to be a more focus approach which will be spellings/timestables...etc Please ensure two members of staff.
- ACHIEVEMENT ASSEMBLY will now take place every Monday at 10am via zoom. The link will be emailed out to everyone so that pupils at home and at school can join in. Please choose a class winner and a reason on teams.
- PHONE CALLS HOME Please keep in contact with those at home - a minimum of once every two weeks - and update the google form. If you have any safeguarding concerns follow the usual procedure of reporting on CPOMS and letting GW/JS know.
- ASLT POSITION An email has been sent today for those teachers interested in the Associate Senior Leadership Team positions that are available for the next 12 months. It would be great to see lots of people go for it :)
- RISK ASSESSMENT A reminder that if you have any safety concerns around covid-19 to speak to a member of SLT immediately. Also, I've attached the risk assessment lower down this document. This must be read and understood.
- STAFF MEETING We'll continue to have these on a Wednesday between 2 and 3pm for the foreseeable. If there are any issues in teachers being able to attend, please let us know.
- THOUGHT OF THE WEEK God is a DJ, life is a dance-floor, love is the rhythm, YOU are the music :)
