THIS WEEK'S NEWS

FLOODING What a week! Huge thanks to absolutely every single member of staff for your efforts this week. It has been a week to remember - for the wrong reasons. However, we've really come together as a team and had to be flexible throughout the week. Thanks so much.
ALL HANDS ON DECK I'm predicting that KS2 classrooms will be able to be moved into on Sunday. I will be sending a text out to staff and parents to see if anyone can come down to school at 11am to help place furniture back. If anyone can spare an hour if the text does come through, it would be more than appreciated.
REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT Please ensure anything that has been thrown due to the flood is added to the list in the staffroom. We need to keep track of everything for any insurance claim and for things that may need reordering.
EASTER SERVICE will unfortunately be held at Parkfield as All Saints and Martyr's church is closed due to health and safety grounds. It will be a small service without any parents. However, we will live stream the service so parents can watch. Please sign up in the staffroom.
RE-SCHEDULED EVENTS The parent drop ins for reading and 'sweets and solutions' will be rearranged for after Easter.
SHARING INTERVENTION PRACTICE TA2's sharing intervention practice will now take place next week.
NICOLA BRADWELL will be joining us Mon-Thurs next week to handover with ZM. She will then start after Easter in Y3. Nicola will be working Monday-Thursday in Y3 with Jane Steele covering on a Friday.
PPA has slightly changed for next week.
FIRE DRILL is due before we finish for Easter. Please remind the children of the procedure and let any new staff know what is expected.
ECO COUNCIL 8 members of the Eco team are out on Monday with KB at an eco-summit in Manchester.
EASTER BINGO REMINDER The PTA have organised an event to take place at Leesa Vain dance studio on Friday 29th March at 7pm. Tickets are now available. Members of staff are more than welcome to come along and support the event/help out - please sign up in the staffroom if you are able to attend.
NO MICHELLE WILD Michelle will be off next week.
PGCE STUDENT Chloe Jones started her placement in Y1 this week and she will be with us until the 20th June. Well done also to Chloe in successfully getting a position at Hollin for September.
SUPPLY TA Welcome to Mrs Ahmed who will be with us in Y3 until SATS. She will do the timetable that Lynn does (i.e. class and dinnertime) After that, we're planning on having a little swap around with KS2 TA's.
Y5 BIKEABILITY Is on Monday and Tuesday next week. Bikes will be locked in the friendship garden when not in use.
EASTER EGG FORFEIT DAY Next Thursday all pupils may wear non school uniform in return for an Easter Egg. Staff are invited to join in!

TEACHING AND LEARNING

TEACHER ASSESSMENT AND EFFORT GRADES Due to this week's flooding, I am moving the deadline back a week to Friday 5th April (last day). Spring term reports will then be sent out the first Wednesday back on Wednesday 24th April. This gives the time needed to complete any assessments and target sheets can be copied in the final week of term.
MATHS TESTS Next week is timetabled for the White Rose Hub Maths Tests to support with teacher assessment for the Spring Term. Please complete the two papers and record results onto SIMS. All tests are on the staff drive.
HUMANITIES BIG FINISH is only a few weeks away. ZM will be organising.
MONITORING We're on catch up now! The planned monitoring schedule will continue with 'how effective is feedback' next week. However, the missed monitoring will be rescheduled for after easter.

OUR VISION FOR MATHS See screenshots below showing a guide for how we would like maths lessons to be structured, although this doesn't need to be followed exactly each lesson - Laura liked how each teacher personalised their lessons unlike her own school which are more regimented.

REMINDERS

CARETAKER Mr Henson will be returning as our caretaker from Monday April 1st (Dave finishes next Friday!)
WAGE SLIPS will be emailed to your work email address from the summer. Any questions, speak to Karen.
BEHAVIOR INCIDENTS / YELLOW / RED CARDS Updated cards are now in the staffroom. These can be filled in by any member of staff. Once filled in they need to be passed to the school office who will record the incident onto SIMS. It is the class teachers responsibility to ensure it's given to the office and recorded. The new 'behaviour incident' slips are for those occasions that don't warrant a yellow card but the incident needs logging.
BAR MODELLING REMINDER
PE NOMINATION In assembly, the children were shown how to nominate another pupil for a Kids4Kids Award. The award is being run by EdStart - our PE providers. Children nominate a pupil that they feel show commitment and attitude to sport. Nominations can also be received from teachers. There are some lovely prizes that can be won - which will announced just before Easter.
EXTRA WEDNESDAY PE LESSONS are now timetabled into the school calendar once every three weeks for classes. I know it's cold but you must give your pupils the opportunity for the extra PE lesson! Planning is available on the staff drive - alternatively, chat to Jenny and she'll let you know where they're up too.

A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.

Health and Safety

LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.

Safeguarding

If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.

Pupil Voice

TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.

Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.

Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.

CPOMS

Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Carolyn (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Jane (Deputy DSL) immediately. If they're not available please see MK or GW.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.

✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE

✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.

✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.

✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .

✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.

✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
