HAPPY EASTER After a long and challening term, I'd like to thank you all for your hard work. Again, it has been a challenging term and every has stepped up and supported colleagues when required. Enjoy a well deserved break
RUTH BRADLEY joins the team after Easter and will be teaching in Y4 on our return after Easter. Louise will be in school completing a range of other activities in her final week before she goes off on maternity leave.
SOPHIE HOWARD joins the team in Y6 after Easter. She'll be teaching Y6 alongside Mrs Whalen until the SATS before Sophie then takes on full resonsibility for the class. Sophie will also be a member of the SLT and will lead English across the school.
SPORTS EQUIPMENT A reminder that staff/children aren't able to collect PE equipment from the PE cupboard for dinner time and play time use. The equipment in the cupboard is for PE lessons and a seperate budget is set up for play equipment. If things need replacing on the yards, please speak to the office/Jenny Banks.
POLLING DAY - 5TH MAY School will be closed to children but all staff are in. The day is going to be spent updating/refreshing/enhancing displays and the learning environment in classrooms and across shared areas in the school.
PUPIL PROGRESS MEETINGS Thanks to teachers for all your preparations into this week's meetings. Please share info with other staff in your class. We'll commence the postponed meetings after Easter holidays.
WELLBEING TEAM REMINDER I'd like to set up a staff wellbeing team that meets for just once every half term. The group will meet to discuss practical ways to improve the wellbeing of all staff at Parkfield. If you're interested, please drop MK an email - there is a currently a small group interested.
ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARD To improve communication and cut back on the Friday bulleting, a TV is being fit in the staffroom over the Easter holidays which will display upto date messages and remind about important information. The hope is that the Friday bulletin will become less frequent - possibly half termly.
KEEP ON TWEETING Our Twitter feed is looking great and highlights the brilliant job you're all doing across the school. Keep it up.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT following a week of consulation where there were no objections or questions governors have now approved the change and as a result an internal advert for the temporary admin position will be on display soon.
TEACHER DROP INS *1 week left* For the next week we'd like all staff to drop in on each other's Science lessons. Drop ins need to last no longer than 20 minutes but will be highly effective in sharing good practice. Please arrange the drop ins between yourselves and let MK know if you're strugling. Once complete, fill in the 'drop-in' feedback form (link found below).
NATIONAL COLLEGE This half term's training that all staff must complete is: Mental Health Certificate. The course helps you identify and informally support those pupils that are stuggling with thier mental health and wellbeing. Please complete the training before the end of this half term - arranging your own cover when neccessary.

FRIDAY FORUM next week is focussed on xxx
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
DISCRETIONARY LEAVE REMINDER I thought I'd highlight that staff only have two days paid leave per academic year if a child is poorly. Anything over this will be unpaid - unless the member of staff can work from home. The 10 day rule is still in place but only for cases related to covid. If you have any questions about this, please speak to MK/KB. It can get confusing.
BEHAVIOUR REPORTING It is vital that all yellow and red cards are recorded on SIMS. This is used to monitor behaviour at the school and procides evidence for governors and OFSTED about the behaviour and attitude of pupils at Parkfield. Do not forget to report and please ask if you need reminding on how to update.
CPOMS CPOMS isn't used just to report safeguarding incidents but provides school with a useful tool to track communication. This s a reminder that CPOMS is to be used for record conversations with parents that may be of some concern or may require a follow up in future. There is a tick box for 'SEN' and 'Parent communication'.
DOGS in the playground? They're not allowed so please either let the parent know or tell the office so we can send them a message.
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane, Marc or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
If they're not available please see Mr Kemp.
