WEEKLY PHONICS MEET UP Is on Monday in the ICT suite with EYFS/KS1 teachers only.
READING SPONSORSHIP Please remind children to bring in any sponsor money by next Thursday 8th October. All moniues raised go towards books for the classroom.
PARENTS EVENING Zoom video calls will take place between 3.30pm and 7.00pm on Wednesday 14th October. Meetings will be five minutes long and parents will complete a link to sign up for their times. Time will be spend in Wednesday's staff meeting demonstrating how to send an invite and for any questions.
DISCRETIONARY LEAVE POLICY The discretionary leave policy has been updated recently due to covid restrcitions. The policy will be emailed to all staff but the key change is that staff can have upto 10 days paid leave per year to look after children for covid related issues (i.e. bubble sent home). This is an increase from the current 2 days.
HOME LEARNING Work being set will be links to video lessons that have been produced by Oak National Academy or a link to join your lesson that day via teams.
INSET Is next Friday 9th October for the second part of phonics.

LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.

✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
