COVID RISK ASSESSMENT Yesterday's positive case in Y4 demonstrates how we need to all remain vigilant at this time of rising cases. Please ensure you keep masks on in shared areas and reduce the amount of time spent in the staffroom. Please be aware that if a member of classroom based staff tests positive there should be no other contacts from a different bubble if the risk assessment is being followed.
BLACKPOOL Year 6 will be out on their Blackpool residential from Wednesday to Friday next week. Marc, Joe, Sarah and Olliveah will be accompanying the class.
PUPIL VOICE A few governors will be working with MK on Monday to gather evidence of pupil voice across the school. As a result, a couple of pupils may be requested for a short amount of time during the day. Governors will then produce a report with information about the strengths of the school and areas of development from a pupil's perpective.
Y4 SELF ISOLATION will end after 10 days and as a result they'll return to school on Monday 28th June.
MATHS PASSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP Qualifying rounds are to take place next week with those pupils that want the opportunity being questioned for 90 seconds by their class teaching assistant. Please find time to question pupils throughout the week. The top 10 pupils across Y1/2, Y3/4 and Y5/6 will be invited to the finals. MK will send out resources and question sheets.
ORDERING FOR SEPT 2021 Books and stationary have been ordered this year centrally though the office and GW. If you require anything specific, please let us know.
REPORTS We have taken the decision to not send out the target sheets for reading, writing and maths this academic year. Please continue to update these as they'll be passed onto the next class teacher. The reading assessment sheets from 'Accelerated Reader' will be sent out with the report for children in Y2-6.
REPORTS DATE REMINDERS Reports are to be completed by Friday 9th July and will be sent out on Friday 16th. The staff meeting on the 23rd June is going to be for report writing with the 7th July staff meeting being used as proof reading time for the next class teacher. You can start your comments straight away using the template on the staff drive - there is no need to wait for grades to be input as these will be placed on the first page.
TWO TLR3 POSTS Thanks to those that have demonstrated an interest in the TLR3 posts. Interviews will take place on the 28th June for those interested.
LFD TESTS You must remember to report your result. This data is being monitored by the DfE and LA to check the take up of testing and recent data shows we've gone from 60 test results a week back in March, to 8 test results submitted just before half term.
PARKFIELD CHARACTER This term we're looking at the characteristic of being 'communicative'. Character lanyards, stickers and posters have been handed out to each class this next week for each class to promote the characteristic within their classroom. For this half term teachers can decide on how to use the lanyards in one of two ways:
Have two 'character spotters' that wear the lanyard for the day/week and feedback at the end of the day on who they feel have demonstrated that characteristic. Reward those identified with a Parkfield Character sticker.
Use the lanyards as a reward for those that have demonstrated the characteristic.
We hope that this small initiative will help promote the Parkfield Characteristics even more across the school and ensure it's woven throughout the curriculum.
THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Numbers that aren't divisible by two seem very odd to me.
STAFF MEETING Report writing time
FRIDAY FORUM Guided Reading Discussion with Joe and Gemma W
CURRICULUM SITE Have a read of the updated curriculum website. It's been updated considerably over the past couple of months. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
RETRIEVAL PRACTICE WEBSITE Some interesting research papers and practical guidance can be found here: https://www.retrievalpractice.org/library
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
ZPD NUMBERS Please explain to children how they use 'decimal numbers' to check that they understand HOW to choose a book that is in their ZPD range. We will circulate a poster to be displayed near your bookshelf, which may also help any children who are struggling with decimal numbers.
LFD TESTING Please continue to take the tests and submit your results to https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result . Karen Slatford needs to know about any tests that come back as inconclusive.
TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing. It's great to see and is a quick way to demonstrate to parents and the school community the work taking place across the school.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
