INSET is taking place on Friday 18th February for all staff. School will be closed to all pupils. A full programme of the day will be emailed over. The good news is that breakfast and lunch will be provided! A reminder that any member of staff (support staff only) working with the authority for over 5 years gets paid for the day.
TEACHER INTERVIEWS take place on Monday for candidates applying for the Y4 temporary position. Candidates will be seen around the school throughout the day - as always please welcome them into classes and feel free to get them to sit/help you pupils.
EYFS POSITION The temporary EYFS teaching position to cover GP's maternity has now gone live. Interviews will be in March and the role is due to start in September.
ASSEMBLY due to interviews on Monday, assembly is now going to take place on Tuesday at 10.10am - Monday can be Tuesday with a focus on Math's Passports.
NATALIE RIGBY returns next week after her maternity leave. Natalie's role will include supporting in EYFS in the mornings and then Y4 in the afternoons.
VALENTINES DISCO HELP Thanks to those that have offered to help at the discos on Monday and Tuesday. The event will now be split into classrooms (film and snack) and the hall (disco) for approx 30 mins each so all pupils can attend. All pupils will leave via their normal exits please at approx 4.15pm.
NON-UNIFORM DAYS As the disco's are taking place next week, we will have a non-uniform day for children in KS2 on Monday and KS1 on Tuesday so that no one feels singled out for not attending.
DISCRETIONARY LEAVE I thought I'd highlight that staff only have two days paid leave per academic year if a child is poorly. Anything over this will be unpaid - unless the member of staff can work from home. The 10 day rule is still in place but only for cases related to covid. If you have any questions about this, please speak to MK/KB. It can get confusing.
NEW DINNER STAFF Joanne Heys (Mum of boys in Y2 and 5) joins the team next week. She'll prodominantly be working in the hall and will cover Andrea when she leaves after half term.
MATHS PASSPORT half termly assessments are to take place next week for Spring 1 targets. Please input results into the excel spreadsheet and also indicate where old assessments from Autumn have impoved. Speak to GP for more info.
TEACHER DROP INS *last few days* For the remainder of the term, we would like teachers to drop in on each other's maths lessons. Like previous, it only needs to be a short drop in but with an agreed focus. Please arrange it between yourselves and feedback is to be given on the staff drop in form (link found at the bottom of this bulletin)
NATIONAL COLLEGE *last few days* You have all been emailed about Fire Safety Training. All staff must complete this before the end of this half term. All staff should have also now completed PREVENT and FIRST AID training.
STAFF MEETING next week is looking at Assessment and Knowledge grids for Art (RA) and also the new Parkfield Characteristic for Spring 2 (LG).

CURRICULUM SITE Have a read of the updated curriculum website. It's been updated considerably over the past couple of months. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
RETRIEVAL PRACTICE WEBSITE Some interesting research papers and practical guidance can be found here: https://www.retrievalpractice.org/library
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
BEHAVIOUR REPORTING It is vital that all yellow and red cards are recorded on SIMS. This is used to monitor behaviour at the school and procides evidence for governors and OFSTED about the behaviour and attitude of pupils at Parkfield. Do not forget to report and please ask if you need reminding on how to update.
CPOMS CPOMS isn't used just to report safeguarding incidents but provides school with a useful tool to track communication. This s a reminder that CPOMS is to be used for record conversations with parents that may be of some concern or may require a follow up in future. There is a tick box for 'SEN' and 'Parent communication'.
STAFF CPD, MEETINGS, MONITORING..ETC Spring term has been updated and can be found on the usual link below and here: https://parkfieldprimary-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/mkemp_parkfield_rochdale_sch_uk/EZTDcHecvX5Kud9HcZXVpg0BGDLeDWSBi4K4KvOJKnYA3A?e=bfdzuI
REMOTE LEARNING If any of your pupils are isolating, please remember to set work on Showbie for them. Although it's not an expectation, it's been great to see some teachers delivering lessons via zoom to those at home. This is obviously easier for some classes than others.
WHITE ROSE HUB DIGITAL RESOURCES Please check out these interactive resources that WRH have created https://whiterosemaths.com/digital-tools/ .
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
DOGS in the playground? They're not allowed so please either let the parent know or tell the office so we can send them a message.
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane, Marc or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
If they're not available please see Mr Kemp.
✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.

✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
