- EXTRA-CURRICULAR CLUBS SPRING TERM MK will be chatting to staff over the next few weeks about clubs. This is because we'll be starting them the first week back after Christmas but sending out the information beforehand. The plan is to continue with the current clubs...unless you have any other fab ideas.
- PANTO The whole school will be walking down to the Panto from 9.20am on Tuesday morning. Please walk down in the following order: R&Y6, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5. A seating chart is going to be copied and placed in the staffroom - we have the front of the auditorium. Children will be getting an ice lolly at the interval - we've ordered 210. When we arrive back in school please can classes go in the following order: R > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6.
- FAIR THANK YOU Huge thanks to those that are staying behind today and helping out at the Christmas Fair. Your supported is much appreciated.
- MEMORIAL SERVICE We will be having a special service in school on the 19th Decemeber at 11am. At the service Father Philip will be blessing a plaque with Scott Hetherington's and Lee Rigby's name on. We're not advertising it to parents as we want to keep it as a small school event and we can't physically fit in the number of people that could potentially attend. Due to the nature of the service, only KS2 classes will be attending. However, if KS1 staff that knew/taught Scott want to attend, please arrange your own cover for the duration of the service. Plans for the service are still ongoing!!
- EFFORT GRADE MARKSHEETS for different classes can be found by going to Focus > Assessment > Marksheets on SIMS.
- CHRISTMAS DINNER Is next Friday! We'll go for similar times as last year which were:

11.45am Reception (from classroom)
12.00pm Y1 (from classroom)
12.15pm Y2 (from outside when called)
12.30pm Y3 (from outside when called)
12.40pm Y4 (from outside when called)
12.50pm Y5 (from outside when called)

To help this run as smoothly as possible:
Dinner for Y1-Y6 will start at 12pm
- The hall will be set up with 3 long tables. (Similar to Hogwarts!)
- Each class will sit at a table so they can have their Christmas dinner together along with other adults from their class. For those that sit with the children, dinner will be free of charge.
- Any adults that aren’t assigned to a particular class – you’re welcome to join any class you’d like!
- We’d like all staff to help out and cover where possible. (Particularly outside when TA2’s are inside eating their xmas lunch with their class)
- When a table is free, it will be set up again with crackers…etc before the next class is called.
- Remind your children that they are only allowed to pull one cracker otherwise we won’t have enough.
- Help will be needed at the end to clear up.
- READING BOOK BAND TRACKER Teachers, you may have noticed a new marksheet appear in SIMS. This is the reading book band tracker that we are going to use to track which book band each child is on at the end of each term. We will remind you each term but it can be completed by yourself or by a TA. We've introduced the tracker to give us an oversight to which books children are on across the school.
- CHRISTMAS SERVICE This year we're combing the KS2 music concert into the church service at All Saints and Martyrs on the last day, where we will be singing a mixture of traditional and modern songs which can be found at N:\Hall IWB Resources\Assembly songs\Christmas\Christmas Service 2018. Year 6 children will be reading at the service.
- THANK YOU to those members of staff that have covered this week for colleagues. It is appreciated and shows what a fabulous team we have here at Parkfield!
- STAFF ROOM Thanks for keeping the staffroom clean and tidy this week. It's looking good!
- ADVANCED WARNING: TEACHER ASSESSMENTS AND EFFORT GRADES are due onto the system in 2 Fridays! (Friday 14th December). Autumn term reports - with photocopied target sheets will be sent out on Thursday 20th December. Marksheets for different classes can be found by going to Focus > Assessment > Marksheets on SIMS.
- NO PENS DAY WEDNESDAY Please scroll down to the bottom to give your views on the day. Thanks to those that have already completed the form.

- READING HALF-TERMLY TESTS are to be completed over the next few weeks. The bug club test that children are to complete are on the staffroom wall. Please record results on SIMS.
- MATHS TERMLY TESTS are to be completed over the next few weeks. It's the White Rose Hub tests on the staff drive. Each year group has an arithmetic and reasoning paper to complete. Please record results on SIMS.
- STAFF MEETING next week is time to complete teacher assessments and target sheets...etc. After the change of plan to this week's staff meeting we will be looking again at writing from 'writing week' after Christmas.
- TEACHER CPD For all this half term, every Thursday, we've organised for teachers to visit Boarshaw. You'll be visiting the corresponding class and we hope the visit allows you to share ideas with the Boarshaw teachers. They'll be joining us in the Spring. Don't forget to complete a 'visit feedback' form.

- @PIRAMIDDWRITING Please continue to tweet examples of writing to share across the collaborative - particularly during creative writing week.
- DISCRETIONARY LEAVE It is vital that you fill in any paperwork requesting any time off as soon as possible. This helps us keep track of discretionary leave and plan cover if required.
- NO PHOTOGRAPHS ON PERSONAL EQUIPMENT Although it rarely happens, to protect ourselves can we ensure we don't take photographs using our personal mobile phones. We are amending our policy in light of some information from the local authority. It will ensure that we are all safeguarded against allegations and although it can be a hassle having to use iPads at sporting fixtures/trips/residentials...etc it will help protect us all. We will just have to upload photos to Twitter when we get back from school or use our mobile phones as a 'hotspot' if we want to send the images instantly.
- SPENDING A reminder that we are having to be incredibly frugal at the minute.
- STAFF DROP INS There is now a link near the bottom of this bulletin for staff to record drop ins. You no longer have to record on paper. This will help us keep things collated.
- EARLY BIRDS AND BUSY BEES If a parent requests any changes to bookings made for Early Birds of Busy Bees please send them to the office to organise. For example, if they tell you they don’t need Busy Bees that day then they will still be charged as they need to give two weeks’ notice.
- 2ESKIMOS The online reading test is going to be used by Y1, 2 and 6 initially. Once we've seen the data it produces we will roll it out to other year groups.
- Y4 TIMES TABLES CHECK We will be taking part voluntarily in June 2019 and it then becomes statutory from 2020. Children will be given 6 seconds to answer 25 questions each on a computer from the 2-12 times tables, with the harder tables appearing most often. - YELLOW AND RED CARDS need to be recorded on SIMS. Please speak to MK if you require any support.

- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
