- REMEMBER, REMEMBER Include #History in any tweets you do on Wednesday. There won't be a showcase assembly at the end of the day, although SH will still be creating a slideshow celebrating all the exciting learning that has gone on!
- CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS will be sent out to parents over the weekend. Thanks for getting these completed and making any amendments requested.
- LEARNING LOGS should have been returned to children and sent out. If not, please get it done asap. There looks to be some good ideas for this half term.
- LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE MK/GW and CJP will be out at some point from Thursday dinner to attend the leadership conference. I'm sure the vast majority of issues can be dealt with by class teachers, however anything major can be sorted out from Monday. They'll all be contactable by phone in case of an emergency.
- RECEPTION PARENTS DROP IN will be taking place in the hall on Friday afternoon. As a result, Music will be in Y4.
- MODEL BUILDING PTA WORKSHOP takes place in the hall on Wednesday afternoon (3.30 - 6.00pm) (Parkfield Performers - please use another classroom). Any help will be much appreciated.
- LOCKDOWN PROCEDURE You'll all have received a separate email regarding the lockdown procedure. Teachers have met about it and TA's have a meeting next Thursday break time to discuss. There will then be a drill at some point before Christmas.
- TEACHER APPRAISALS Thanks to teachers for your preparations for appraisals over the past couple of weeks. You have all been emailed with an electronic copy of the targets for 2018-19. If you haven't received it...please let me know!
- SECRET SANTA is back! Please keep it secret for Karen's sanity!! £10 limit.

- STAFF MEETING Next week: 'Is feedback having an impact on on pupil's learning?'. Please can all teachers bring 2 copies of maths, English and topic books from different ability pupils. We're going to be self and peer assessing against what we think a good one looks like.
- TEACHER CPD For all this half term, every Thursday, we've organised for teachers to visit Boarshaw. You'll be visiting the corresponding class and we hope the visit allows you to share ideas with the Boarshaw teachers. They'll be joining us in the Spring.
- TA'S Thanks to those that have been able to drop in on one another. If you haven't done so already, please plan a drop in for after half term and once complete please fill in the online feedback form - which can be found below.
- MATHS I do, we do, you do…a reminder from staff meeting.
- SCIENCE ENQUIRY The 5 lines of scientific enquiry are: Research, Pattern seeking, Observations over time, Identifying and classifying and Fair Testing. The question you need to ask each lesson is which of these am I covering?

- FLU JABS for staff are going to take place next Wednesday from 12pm. Just go down to the blue room when available! KB is sending out the consent forms to those members of staff that would like a flu jab.
- NO PHOTOGRAPHS ON PERSONAL EQUIPMENT Although it rarely happens, to protect ourselves can we ensure we don't take photographs using our personal mobile phones. We are amending our policy in light of some information from the local authority. It will ensure that we are all safeguarded against allegations and although it can be a hassle having to use iPads at sporting fixtures/trips/residentials...etc it will help protect us all. We will just have to upload photos to Twitter when we get back from school or use our mobile phones as a 'hotspot' if we want to send the images instantly.
- STRONG PASSWORDS You'll have been asked already to alter your password. This is because of the issues with spam messages.
- SPENDING A reminder that we are having to considerably tighten our belts. Please be aware that food costs and consumables (such as pens, pencils and laminating pouches) are rising and we're going to have to look at ways to spend less in the future. Please be mindful of this when making any orders or asking for resources.
- STAFF DROP INS There is now a link near the bottom of this bulletin for staff to record drop ins. You no longer have to record on paper. This will help us keep things collated.
- EARLY BIRDS AND BUSY BEES If a parent requests any changes to bookings made for Early Birds of Busy Bees please send them to the office to organise. For example, if they tell you they don’t need Busy Bees that day then they will still be charged as they need to give two weeks’ notice. A reminder for parents will also be sent on today’s newsletter.
- YELLOW AND RED CARDS need to be recorded on SIMS. Please speak to MK if you require any support.
Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written this week and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.
Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Carolyn (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Jane (Deputy DSL) immediately.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
