- THANK YOU To everyone who was helped all our Christmas events be so successful, including: the nativity shows, the church service, Christmas dinner, the children's raffle and parties yesterday! Your support both during and after school time is much appreciated.
- WELL DONE to all staff involved in organising the nativities. They were wonderful and demonstrated what fabulous and talented children we have. All the hard work paid off in the end!
- BAR MODELLING As a way of increasing the number of children working at a greater depth, after Christmas, I would like all classes to teach one intervention session (during assembly time) per week with more able pupils. The focus will be using bar modelling to solve word problems. More information will follow in the new year.
- LINK GOVERNORS You may see these dropping into school more frequently - this is part of improving their knowledge/awareness/visibility in school.
- SPRING TERM CLUBS Children have been told which clubs they have been accepted onto and they start on the first day back. Remember to keep filling in the clubs register spreadsheet for Spring Term as this is crucial for tracking payments.
- LEARNING LOGS AND CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS Are due out by the first Friday back. Please remember to fill in the topic question on your learning logs! Also, please ensure the different sections of curriculum overviews are complete for the other classes that you teach.
- PUPIL PROGRESS SHEETS are to be completed before meetings the first week back after Christmas. Please see the calendar for timings. Please use the data given to you to support filling in the forms. A reminder that I'm going to do something a little different than previously done and ask for you to bring the books and target sheets for any pupil that you are worried about. This will help focus the discussion on next steps in their learning.
- INTRA-HOUSE SPORT Miss Banks will be running an intra-house sports competition in her PE lessons where children will be trying to win matches to earn points for their house in a whole school results table she is compiling. Additional Wednesday PE lessons may be an opportunity to practise for these matches - teachers, please feel free to ask her about this new initiative.
- PROUD PARKFIELDERS DISPLAY This we be in the entrance foyer and for displaying photos of children who do achievements outside of school.
- PLAQUE AND POPPY In memory of Scott Hetherington and Lee Rigby, these will be placed at the side of the main entrance.
- HAPPY CHRISTMAS! School will not be open over the holidays. We will re-open on Monday 7th January 2019 (3rd and 4th are 'health and wellbeing' INSET days).
- REPORTS Thanks to everyone for the team effort in getting out the Autumn term reports. We're like a well oiled machine! From teachers filling in grades to Alison printing out and then TA's photocopying and collating - it's a fabulous team effort. Thanks.
- GOOD LUCK MR BARNES Best of luck to Mr Barnes on your big day. Hope you and Mark have a wonderful day. We look forward to seeing lots of the photos!
- MICHELLE WILD will only be working in school two days a week after Christmas rather than the current three. She'll be in on a Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result, cover will be affected and there'll fewer opportunities for teacher CPD until Jane returns.

- MATHLETICS If you click on 'Library' on the side when logged in as a teacher then you get access to a variety of printable resources.
- SUBJECT LEADERS Please request time using the link below - if no requests are received I will assume that all subject leader responsibilities are being carried out at other times.
- HALF-TERMLY TESTS seem to have been completed across the school. Please ensure all results are placed onto SIMS.
- STAFF MEETING when we get back is going to be a Kagan refresher. No preperation is needed!
- MATHS I do, we do, you do…a reminder from staff meeting.
- READING BOOK BAND TRACKER Thanks for completing this on SIMS. GW and RA can use this for tracking and monitoring purposes.

- 2ESKIMOS The online reading test is going to be used by Y1, 2 and 6 initially. Once we've seen the data it produces we will roll it out to other year groups.

Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
- If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
- Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
- Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Health and Safety
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.
Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Carolyn (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Jane (Deputy DSL) immediately.
A replica of the Y4 times tables check.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
