REPORTS DATES The effort and attainment deadline is today. These reports will be produced over the next week. The deadline for reports is Friday 9th.
STAFF MEETING TASK REMINDER During this week's staff meeting all teachers were asked to find a _.3, _.5 and an _.7 piece of work to copy for the green English file along with a copy of the completed target card. Please scan and send a copy of this to Joe and GW for monitoring too.
MATHS PASSPORTS Please let Gemma P know if you are happy with the order of the targets so that she can start to make the resources - thank you!
FOOTBALL AT PLAYTIMES It's clearly stated on our Covid risk assessment that we cannot allow contact sports (football) to happen at school. This is due to the risk of an injury ending up in a hospitalisation during a pandemic. I'm aware that there are some members of staff that are sticking to this rule and I thank you for that, but unfortunately there seems to be some 'allowances' being made, where the children are being encouraged to play football. Please stop this immediately. I must request that all footballs are returned to the PE store where they will remain. This also means a ban on 'penalty shootouts' so that this rule can be adhered to.
PLAY EQUIPMENT Can we all ensure the following systems that have been introduced for play equipment, continue to happen on a daily basis.
Y6 to open green shed at beginning of day
At break/dinner one monitor (pupil) from each class takes their basket from the green shed and places in their area for children to play with
At the end of break/dinner, all equipment is returned to the basket and then the green shed by one monitor.
Y6 monitors lock the shed at the end of dinner.
It sounds like a simple system but we are still having large numbers of pupils attempting to get equipment from the shed.
TWO TLR3 POSTS The postponed interviews will now take place when MK returns.
MYON Please complete the assessment and record the ZPD numbers in your green book and their reading records. The report generated can then be used for your reports.
SIGN OF THE WEEK Sign this week is ‘to kick’
Stand two fingers on the back of other hand like little legs and point out index finger like a kick.
THOUGHT OF THE WEEK The problem with English teachers is that they're always write.
STAFF MEETING Proof reading the reports of the class that you are receiving in September. Please ensure the proof read copies are saved on the staff drive so that they can just be printed out by the office.
FRIDAY FORUM Art sketch books.
CURRICULUM SITE Have a read of the updated curriculum website. It's been updated considerably over the past couple of months. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
RETRIEVAL PRACTICE WEBSITE Some interesting research papers and practical guidance can be found here: https://www.retrievalpractice.org/library
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
ZPD NUMBERS Please explain to children how they use 'decimal numbers' to check that they understand HOW to choose a book that is in their ZPD range. We will circulate a poster to be displayed near your bookshelf, which may also help any children who are struggling with decimal numbers.
LFD TESTING Please continue to take the tests and submit your results to https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result . Karen Slatford needs to know about any tests that come back as inconclusive.
TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing. It's great to see and is a quick way to demonstrate to parents and the school community the work taking place across the school.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
