- OPEN DAY The parents that we had visiting were very pleased with everything that they saw around school. Thank you for opening up your classrooms to them and a special thank you to Mrs Jeffrey and her School Councillors for their hard work and participation too.
- CLASS ASSEMBLY Thank you to Year 2 for their great assembly this morning!
- INSET Mental Health Champion training takes place the first two Wednesdays after half term between 3.30 and 6.30pm. Refreshments will be provided. Please note that it is an accredited course.
- LEARNING LOGS A reminder that next half-term's tasks can be found under O:\Curriculum - Learning Logs\Learning Logs 2019-20\Autumn 2 and books should be given out by the end of the first Friday back.
- CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS Please check their content is still relevant and contains the appropriate memorable moments/BIG finishes on the curriculum site.
- REMEMBER, REMEMBER MORNING Nicola has kindly emailed the information that you need. We look forward to seeing some exciting activities through history skills and objectives.
- LIBRARY 8th November is the deadline for moving the fiction books into your class libraries.
- PHOTOCOPIER Please check you've not left any card or sticky labels in when printing so the next person doesn't waste them.
- TEACHER APPRAISALS Will take place the first week back after half term. Please sign up to a slot in the staffroom and see if you can arrange cover. If you are struggling, please let Mrs Whalen know. An email has been sent out with further information. Please speak to Mr Kemp beforehand if required.
- INSET CONFIRMATION Please note that LGBT+ Awareness training has been booked for Tuesday 3rd March from 3.30 - 5.30pm. The training will be delivered by the 'Proud Trust'. I would like all staff to attend this training. The usual rule will apply for those members of staff with 5 or more years service being paid. If there are any issues, please let MK know.
- STORAGE CUPBOARD Please could we have some volunteers to spend some time tidying the paper cupboard, just five minutes here and there would be so helpful. Unfortunately, there are a number of items that have been dumped on the floor - whoever it is - please stop!!! We need to be working as part of a team!!
- WATER BOTTLES Please could KS2 put their water bottles in a tray at the end of each day. This is so it is super quick for monitors to empty and fill them at the beginning of each day. THANK YOU!!
- CONGRATULATIONS to Olliveah for her successful appointment and also to Aimee Henson who will be joining our Parkfield team.
- THOUGHT OF THE WEEK It's half term - so enjoy yourselves- you deserve it! Thank you to everyone for your hard work in this first half term and a big well done to Mr Kemp as his first half term as Headteacher!

- STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings.
- PICTURE NEWS A reminder that I will be downloading these every Friday and put them into O:\Curriculum - Picture News (Weekly).

Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
- Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
- If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
- Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
- Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Pupil Voice
- TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Gemma will respond to any requests.
Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Jane (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Gemma (Deputy DSL) immediately. If they're not available please see MK.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
