THANK YOU so much for all of your hard work this week. The children have had a strong start and there have already been lots of fabulous lessons happening. Well done!
EARLY BIRDS AND BUSY BEES POSITION Before we advertise anything externally I want to find out what interest there would be if a full time or part time position became available in Busy Bees. (3.15pm - 5.30pm) Please come and speak to MK asap if you would be interested.
CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS Thank you for completing. We'll let you know if anything needs changing.
ACTION PLANS Please complete subject action plans by Monday 27th September. If you have any questions, please speak to MK or GW. Please save the plans here: O:\Staff - Subject Coordinator\.Action Plans and Summary Sheets\2021-2022
ECO AND SCHOOL COUNCIL In Monday's assembly, Miss Dippnall and Mrs Jeffrey will explain to the children about this. The children can then sign up and prepare a speech to their class. The class then needs to vote by writing a name on a slip and putting it in a hat. Please do not read the slips! Pass them to Mrs Jeffrey and Miss Dippnall to be counted. Two children for each club will be chosen. The deadline is the 22nd September. KS2 only!
MEET THE TEACHER EVENT Please ensure you've emailed Karen S with your zoom link and have prepared the presentation for the meetings next week.
TA1 MEETING Is on Thursday after school for one hour. Please check your emails for the agenda.
PHONICS MEETINGS take part during Wednesday assembly times in the Blue Room. For those who teach phonics, please come along.
BIG MATHS Please let MK know if there were any mistakes or issues with today's BIG Maths materials. If not, he'll create week 2 versions before next Friday.
NATIONAL COLLEGE Although we will introduce it in a staff meeting, all staff can now access the national college website https://thenationalcollege.co.uk/login which has a range of training materials on there. MK has set up some videos on personal 'watchlists' that he feels are appropriate for certain roles. However, you can access all training materials. The videos can be anything between 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 mins long. The plan is to provide release time for staff to watch the videos but you're welcome to watch them at anytime. There are also a range of accredited courses on there that are included in our subscription.
UNVACCINATED STAFF Dr Jiva, the chair of Rochdale Health Alliance, is offering an opportunity for unvaccinated school staff to meet with him to discuss any concerns that they may have in relation to the Covid vaccination programme. This session is aimed at school staff who are hesitant about having the covid vaccine. Dr Jiva will be able to answer questions, myth bust and respond to any common misconceptions about the vaccination. Please share this information with your school workforce in order that they can log in to the session, it will be an open session for anyone within the setting to attend. We are not operating a booking system for this session.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK To the guy who invented zero, thanks for nothing.
STAFF MEETING Is being replaced with the 'Meet the Teacher' zoom events
FRIDAY FORUM N/A (Staff at Robinwood)
CURRICULUM SITE Have a read of the updated curriculum website. It's been updated considerably over the past couple of months. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
RETRIEVAL PRACTICE WEBSITE Some interesting research papers and practical guidance can be found here: https://www.retrievalpractice.org/library
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
ZPD NUMBERS Please explain to children how they use 'decimal numbers' to check that they understand HOW to choose a book that is in their ZPD range. We will circulate a poster to be displayed near your bookshelf, which may also help any children who are struggling with decimal numbers.
LFD TESTING Please continue to take the tests and submit your results to https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result . Karen Slatford needs to know about any tests that come back as inconclusive.
TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing. It's great to see and is a quick way to demonstrate to parents and the school community the work taking place across the school.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
If they're not available please see Mr Kemp.
