COVID ABSENCES It's clear that the next few months are going to be challenging with the increase in covid cases amongst staff. There are going to be times where cover will be required and I want to thank those that have already covered for colleagues this week. I'm sure that we'll get through this with minimal disruption to children's learning due to the strong team we have at the school and want to thank you all in advance for the next few months.
COVID CHANGES From Tuesday 11th, if you test positive on a lateral flow you no longer need to request a PCR test but must immediately isolate for 10 days. This can be reduced to 7 days if you test negative on a lateral flow test on day 6 and 7. I am awaiting further information from HR but suspect staff will have to send a copy of the email/text message once you report a positive lateral flow test. I will update you when I hear anything further.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS Start next week. Children can come to school in their PE kit if they have a club after school.
REMINDER: GEMMA WHALEN In the new year Gemma will be our Y6 teacher and as a result many of her roles will be delegated to either Marc or Jane. Gemma's priority will be Year 6. As a result, we're going to try and implement the following to keep Y6 running as smoothly as possible:
Do not disturb Gemma whilst in class with SEND related issues. See Jane/Marc or email Gemma if it's not urgent.
Gemma will continue as the named DSL but Jane and then Marc will be completing the work for that role. Please go to Gemma as a last resort.
Gemma will not be available for ad-hoc meetings with parents. Any meetings neccessary will be booked for after school.
Gemma will continue with English subject leader management time one morning a week to ensure that the subject continues to be developed effectively.
Be aware that Gemma will be spending her time before school setting up lessons. Unless urgent, speak to Marc or Jane or send an email.
Staff to open KS1/2 door - GW won't be there to open up in the mornings
Monday assemblies will be lead predominantly by MK
PUPIL PROGRESS MEETINGS Please ensure you have signed up and completed the new proformas before attending the meeting.
TUITION - ANY TEACHERS INTERESTED? Another request to see if any teacher's are interested in tutoring after school. We currently have two teachers that are delivering one after school session per week to pupils in their class. The additional funding for this is coming from the government's catch up fund.
REMOTE LEARNING If any of your pupils are isolating, please remember to set work on Showbie for them.

TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
