EASTER SERVICE For this year's Easter service all classes are going to contribute a little to the event. Rec, Y1 and Y2 will be working together to sing 'Spring Chicken'. Year 6 will be presenting and Year 3, 4 and 5 are to present some of their work on Easter- no more than 3 minutes per class is needed and only a select number of pupils need to be involved.
EASTER SERVICE Starts at 1.30pm on Friday. As a result, dinner time will alter for the whole school will run 10 minutes earlier than normal between (i.e. 11.50am for Reception and then between 12.05pm and 1.05pm for other classes). If you forsee any issues - please let me know.
PUPIL PROGRESS MEETINGS will run next week. An email with further information will be sent regarding paperwork and assessments.
WELLBEING TEAM REMINDER I'd like to set up a staff wellbeing team that meets for just once every half term. The group will meet to discuss practical ways to improve the wellbeing of all staff at Parkfield. If you're interested, please drop MK an email - there is a currently a small group interested.
KEEP ON TWEETING Our Twitter feed is looking great and highlights the brilliant job you're all doing across the school. Keep it up.
REPORTS Spring term reports are to be sent on Wednesday and they will include effort grades for pupils in Y1-6.
BINGO NIGHT Thanks to those members of staff that are joining and helping out at tonight's event. Your support is appreciated.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT You may have noticed the proposed change management on the staffroom notice board. This is essentially a staffing structure change but we have to go through the formal channels which inlcudes a 7 day consultation period. There is no detrimental impact for any member of staff but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
TEACHER ASSESSMENT DEADLINE Thanks for getting these completed.
TEACHER DROP INS *1 week left* For the next week we'd like all staff to drop in on each other's Science lessons. Drop ins need to last no longer than 20 minutes but will be highly effective in sharing good practice. Please arrange the drop ins between yourselves and let MK know if you're strugling. Once complete, fill in the 'drop-in' feedback form (link found below).
NATIONAL COLLEGE This half term's training that all staff must complete is: Mental Health Certificate. The course helps you identify and informally support those pupils that are stuggling with thier mental health and wellbeing. Please complete the training before the end of this half term - arranging your own cover when neccessary.
STAFF MEETING next week is going to be focussed on a conversation around the shared career level expectations and then planning time for next term.
FRIDAY FORUM next week is focussed on Science drops ins
STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings. All flipcharts shown in staff meetings are also saved on the staff drive here: O:\Staff - Meetings\Flipcharts and Resources for Staff Meetings
DISCRETIONARY LEAVE REMINDER I thought I'd highlight that staff only have two days paid leave per academic year if a child is poorly. Anything over this will be unpaid - unless the member of staff can work from home. The 10 day rule is still in place but only for cases related to covid. If you have any questions about this, please speak to MK/KB. It can get confusing.
BEHAVIOUR REPORTING It is vital that all yellow and red cards are recorded on SIMS. This is used to monitor behaviour at the school and procides evidence for governors and OFSTED about the behaviour and attitude of pupils at Parkfield. Do not forget to report and please ask if you need reminding on how to update.
CPOMS CPOMS isn't used just to report safeguarding incidents but provides school with a useful tool to track communication. This s a reminder that CPOMS is to be used for record conversations with parents that may be of some concern or may require a follow up in future. There is a tick box for 'SEN' and 'Parent communication'.
DOGS in the playground? They're not allowed so please either let the parent know or tell the office so we can send them a message.
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane, Marc or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
If they're not available please see Mr Kemp.
