- BAR MODELLING END OF YEAR TESTS are to take place over the next week or two. MK will pass you the short tests to complete with your groups involved in the bar modelling project.
- NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR A few reminders:
- Long term overviews are available on the staff drive for those wanting to plan out the year and place the units in.
- Diary Dates are now on google calendar for 2019-20. Any issues, please see MK.
- CLASS SWAP DAY This Tuesday, all pupils will spend the day with their new teachers in their new classrooms. Pupils will come into school through their new entrances and play on their new playgrounds. There will be a few logistical issues to deal with: such as water bottles, coats and bags.
- CLASS SWAP LESSONS A reminder that rules and routines can be done in September and this is an opportunity for you to get to know your new class and get them excited about September.
- SUMMER FAIR Takes place next Friday - please sign up on the staffroom board and help at one of the many stalls! All help is appreciated.
- SEPTEMBER INSET DAYS I would like all staff to attend the two INSET days on September 2nd and 3rd. Staff with five or more years service will be paid and time will not be given as TOIL as this has been incredibly difficult to manage this year.
- LGBT MEETING For those members of staff that didn't attend the meeting, you MUST speak to MK immediately to be updated and given the resources.
- STUDENTS We have a number of students on work experience next week that are ex-pupils. On Monday morning, we'll be placing them in classes across the school for the week.
- GW RETURN Gemma is due back on Monday but she will be staying out of class to support MK with end of year and preparations for September.
- NEXT WEEK ENTERPRISE WEEK Thanks to all for recording what they're doing. Reminders:
- Enterprise week is WB July 1st. Classes are welcome to be off timetable whilst preparing your products!
- KB will give each class £20.00 at the end of next week, then she will take the £20 back from the money banked for each class.
- Items can be sold at the Summer Fair on July 5th (or during the week before)
- The winning class is the one who makes the most money – they get a lovely trophy and £100 to spend.
- SEPTEMBER DELIVERIES Resources have been delivered and are in the stockroom. Please don't take resources unless you know they're for you!
- MK TO MEET WITH STAFF INDIVIDUALLY MK will meet with all staff over the next few weeks regarding roles and responsibilities for next year. Keep an eye on the staffroom board for times - if possible please arrange your own cover - let MK know if you are struggling.
- SPELLING BEE Thanks to all staff that have supported with this week's successful Spelling Bees.
- PIRAMIDD SPELLING BEE Next Thursday we are hosting a special Spelling Bee involving the top three Y5/6 spellers from Parkfield, Hollin and Parish. The whole of KS2 are welcome to watch the special assembly.
- ROBINWOOD I need one more member of staff! If you're interested in accompanying the Y5's at Robinwood from Friday 6th - Sunday 8th September, please let MK know.
- MATHS PASSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP Finals are in 2 weeks! Remind the finalists to keep practicing!
- ELECTION OF STAFF GOVERNOR Due to MK's promotion to Headteacher, a position on the Governing body for a member of staff will become available from 1st September. All staff are welcome to put their name forward. You may also nominate another member of staff - make sure they are interested first though! The position is then voted on by members of staff. Governors want to complete this by the end of term. If you're interested, feel free to speak to MK
- THANKS...AGAIN The last couple of weeks has proved what a fab team we have at Parkfield. Thanks to those that have covered and helped out when we've had various staff absent. It's really appreciated.
- REPORTS Any issues - please let MK know immediately. Some important dates teachers need to remember are as follows:
- Friday 28th June – 1 week away - Assessment Deadline (all data on SIMS)
- Wednesday 19th June – Staff Meeting – Report Writing
- Wednesday 3rd July – Staff Meeting - Report Buddies
- Monday 8th July – Reports to MK
- Monday 15th July – Reports to parents
- Tuesday 16th July - Parent Drop Ins
- THEATRE VISIT Advance warning that Y3-5 are going to have a special trip to the theatre as an end of year reward. They're off to see Madagascar at Middleton Arena on Friday 12th July. Y6 are off to Tree Tops and Y1/2/Rec are welcome to organise a fun afternoon. This will replace trips to Alkrington Woods this year.
- SUBJECT LEADER MONITORING It's the time of the year where subject leaders need to spend some time monitoring the outcomes of any work in their subject and evaluate the impact of any initiatives. However, I understand that it's really time and this may need be done in the Autumn term....as a result....DO NOT SEND ALL BOOKS HOME at the end of the year. Keep 5 books (mixed ability) from each subject that can be used in future. Please explain to the children that they are being kept as brilliant examples and they will get them back.
- TA2's will cease all intervention from 8th July and focus on preparations for next academic year.
- FORFEIT FRIDAY Next week is bottles!

- CURRICULUM SITE Many thanks for all the efforts on the curriculum site over the past few weeks. It's looking great. This will replace the curriculum overviews and will ensure all teachers are clear about what is being delivered and when. https://curriculum.parkfieldprimary.com/home
- READING TESTS Please ensure results are recorded onto SIMS. Tests can be sent home once marked and analysed for areas of improvement.
- TEST PAPERS SENT HOME Can all classes, except Y2, send home tests once they have been completed and used for assessments/intervention/QLA purposes. There's no use in keeping tests afterward, but parents can use them to support their children .

- KNOWLEDGE ORGANISERS Simon has started on a templates for knowledge organisers as some are difficult to find online. They can be found in O:\2019-2020. They're not compulsory at the moment and you can still download copies from the Internet. However, over time we will try and get a more consistent format.
- TRIP REQUESTS Please pass on your suggestions to JS ASAP so they can be booked. We would like each class to have one trip and one visitor per term.
- RISING STARS A reminder that we still subscribe to their Voyagers scheme of work for history and geography which has some useful resources on:

- TRIP FEEDBACK FORM JS has created a form for teachers to fill in after going on any trip or having a visitor in - see the link button below. This will help us monitor their usefulness and make any changes in future.
- BAR MODELLING REMINDER
- Spring and Summer: One session per week taught to targeted pupils
- WB 8th July: Targeted pupils complete assessment to see impact of intervention.
Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
- Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Carolyn or Jane.
- If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
- Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
- Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Pupil Voice
- TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Carolyn will respond to any requests.
Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Carolyn (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Jane (Deputy DSL) immediately. If they're not available please see MK or GW.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
