- ROBINWOOD Huge thanks to the staff who accompanied Y5 last week! The children had an amazing experience.
- REGISTERS Please can you complete your registers after 9am and save them before 9.10am. If a child comes through the main entrance after 8.50am but are in class at 9am they should be marked as present. We're having discrepancies in the registers with siblings that arrive at the same time to school being marked as absent/late.
- SUBJECT ACTION PLANS It's that time of the year where we need to write our subject action plans. MK and GW will contact their teams via email. Please keep an eye on your email for more info. They will look similar to last year and in a few weeks they will be shared at a staff meeting with link governors (we have a number coming along to the staff meeting).
- SAVE THE DATE On Friday 11th October at 6:30pm, the PTFA will be holding a family race night - support from staff would be much appreciated.
- PARKFIELD DIG DAY Saturday 5th Ocober 11am-3pm. Please bring friends/family and gardening tools. This is to clear the Friendship Garden ready for Forest School Learning.
- PUPIL VOICE ELECTIONS Class teachers in years 2-6 have been passed nomination forms for School Council and Eco Team representatives. Please ask children who want to be involved to fill them in and promote this. The children will then do a blind vote on Monday morning 23rd September and the winners will be announced in assembly.
- WATER BOTTLES IN KS2 We now have monitors from Early Birds to empty and fill water bottles before school. This will cut down on the queues and ensure a calm and welcoming environment in the cloakrooms.
- LEARNING ENVIRONMENT CHECKLIST has been updated and handed out to teachers and TAs. There are a few tweaks to reflect the current expectations. We can't wait to see how amazing our classrooms are going to look. There is £50 available to spruce up your reading environments. Please be as creative and imaginative as you possibly can. The winning classroom(s) will receive a very exciting prize! Please hand in your ticked checklist in three weeks time in preparation for SLT to do the learning environment check. You may order through the office or claim up to £50 be putting reciepts in.
- THE PARKFIELD WAY FOR TAs has been emailed out. Please familiarise yourselves with this and any questions see GW.
- PUPIL REWARDS A reminder to keep sending home 'positive postcards' and sending children to GW/MK if they do something outstanding!
- REDWOOD will be working in the Friendship Gardens each Friday morning.
- DROP INS MK and GW will be dropping in a range of lessons over the next few weeks just looking at rules and routines and ensuring that these are of a high standard. We're focussing on how independent the children are and seeing how this can be developed across the school.
- PHOTOS will be taken like last year, in the library, on Wednesday - children will be taken in the order Families > Siblings > Y4 > Rec > Y1 > Y2 > Y3 > Y5 > Y6 at some point during the day so expect some disruption - sorry!
- HALLIWELL ROOM The Inclusion Room has been fitted with a new work desk and the network sockets have been fixed so can be used as a work space for staff (e.g. PPA). It will be re-named the Halliwell Room, in memory of past-Parkfielder Joel Halliwell VC - there will be a special assembly about this at some point in the future. Please use this fantastic space as a first choice for PPA rather than than the computer suite, staffroom or Blue Room when possible.
- TESTBASE A reminder that we subscribe to Testbase - a brilliant resource for easily locating questions from past SATs test linked to topics you want.
- If you already have an account, your login will be your school email and a password you set.
- If you don't have an account, login using Username = Parkfield and Password = M244AF.
- VOLUNTEERS We will be asking for parent volunteers to support reading in Reception.
- ASSEMBLY Please arrange our children into a fixed assembly order to line up and sit down. This is to help with behaviour management during assembly times to prevent disruptive children sitting next to each other. Thank you!

- STAFF DEVELOPMENT There is a shortcut on staff desktops so you can easily review the minutes of staff meetings.
- THE PARKFIELD WAY Thanks for your input the other day on the 'Parkfield Pledge' from the 'Parkfield Way' document. - READING AGE TESTS Please input data onto SIMS - any issues please speak with GW.
- PICTURE NEWS A reminder that I will be downloading these every Friday and put them into O:\Curriculum - Picture News (Weekly).

- TEST PAPERS SENT HOME Can all classes, except Y2, send home tests once they have been completed and used for assessments/intervention/QLA purposes. There's no use in keeping tests afterward, but parents can use them to support their children .

- HUMMUS After confirmation with mum, staff are allowed humus but must wash their hands as it can be dangerous for the girl in Reception. We will be working with the school nurse around a risk assessment with Chinese Food.
- KS2 EMOTIONAL LITERACY QUESTIONNAIRES Results have been emailed out.
- CPOMS See KB if you need help logging in.
- NEW WEBSITE Our new school website went live this week - hopefully you'll like the refreshed design and the more streamlined organisation of the menus.
- IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS TO SIGN Every member of staff must sign to acknowledge that you have received and read the documents sent this week. Remember to pass your pecuniary interest declaration forms to KB (if nothing, just write N/A across the table).
- SCHOOL COUNCIL / ECO TEAM ELECTIONS will be taking place in just over a week's time...
- ENCRYPTING EMAILS A reminder that you can encrypt emails that contain GDPR-sensitive content by simply typing in ENCRYPT somewhere in an email's subject.
- GOOGLE CALENDARS We have five different calendars: Parkfield, Staff Info, PPA, Assembly Themes and Staff Development. You can add these to your own Google Calendar by just clicking the '+ Google Calendar' icon on the different calendars embedded into this bulletin.
- IT EQUIPMENT Edit have been in over summer and updated lots of computers to Windows 10. Please remember to fill in the form detailing any equipment you have and pass it to KB - serial numbers of laptops can be found underneath them whilst on iPads they're on the back (or you can go to Settings > General > About which shows it a lot bigger).
Inclusion
- A new 'intimate care' policy has been written recently and is available on the staff drive.
- If you have any concerns regarding IEP's please speak to Gemma asap.
Health and Safety
- LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
- Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Safeguarding
- Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
- If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
- Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
- Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a yellow pass.
Pupil Voice
- TURTLE COMPETITION The eco council will continue monitoring the class bins for recycling. A class each will be announced as a winner with the class in the lead at the end of the each half term will get a whole class reward.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Complete this online form to request time to for subject leadership. Marc or Gemma will respond to any requests.
Link for logging incidents on CPOMS. If it's urgent - see Jane (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Gemma (Deputy DSL) immediately. If they're not available please see MK.

✅ Review, review and review learning throughout a lesson. Keep referring back to LI and SC and how well they’re doing.
✅ Can’t think of something to write when feeding back?? Remember: QUESTION-ACTION-CHALLENGE
✅ Library days: Mon – 5/6, Tues – 3/4, Weds – 1/2, Thurs – R.
✅ Now Try…Explain why…are two great sentence starters (particularly for Maths) when feeding back.
✅ Plan time for pupils to respond to feedback – make sure you demonstrate this .
✅ Spellings should be: differentiated, linked to the writing genre if possible and taught using meaningful / fun activities.
✅ Please keep on top of marking - especially cross curricular which should also follow the marking policy.
