THIS WEEK'S NEWS

• CHILDREN IN NEED is a non-uniform day, where children (and staff) will be encouraged to wear comfy sports clothes for a donation of £1. ALL CLASSES NEED TO BE IN THE HALL BY 8.55AM PROMPT. Where we will all be exercising with Joe Wickes! TAs will be around classrooms and cloakrooms to bring in latecomers.
• MAGAZINES/BOOKS/CLASS LIBRARIES Our class libraries need to be full of stimulating free reading materials. If you would like donations of a specific author then please advise Mrs Whalen of any texts that you need sending out to parents asking for donations. We will soon be starting a free reading rewards system so class libraries need to be fully stocked. Thank you for your continuing efforts so far with this.
• NEXT WEEK'S MONITORING Will continue with English planning scrutiny and IEPs.
• HEADTEACHER WALKAROUND On Tuesday from 10am, Catherine Barron, the Headteacher from Elm Wood, is visiting Parkfield. She's going to be walking around the school with MK visiting different classes looking at good practice. MK will be visiting Elm Wood the week after. This is a PiraMidd initiative to share ideas with one another.
• CONGRATULATIONS TO HAYLEY who will be going on to complete her teacher training next September... We know that she'll be fantastic and wish her the best of luck.
• ALISON RYAN RESIGNATION After a long period of absence, Mrs Ryan has handed in her resignation to no longer be part of our school office team. This will officially take effect from the 1st December. Mr Kemp we be looking at the roles required for the future team in the front office and more information about available positions will be given in due course.
• BEN HOWSON LEAVING Congratulations to Mr Howson who has secured a teaching position in..... CHINA! What an incredible and exciting opportunity for him and everyone here at Parkfield wishes him all the very best of luck! We will of course miss him and we are very grateful for all of the hard work that he has put in at Parkfield in the short space of time that he has been here! We will now be very busy trying to find a worthy replacement!
• MATHS/ENGLISH PLANNING MONITORING Mr Kemp and Mrs Whalen have managed to look at the maths planning so far. Thank you to all of the teachers for their hard work and dedication. It was wonderful to see so many initiatives in place that are raising the standards and achievements for our pupils. Feedback will be given next week.
• HALL DOOR SECURITY We had an inciden this week when a Grandparent entered the building bny bypassing the office and entering via the internal hall door. THIS DOOR MUST NEVER BE LEFT ON THE LATCH. We do not want uninvited guests in our school.
• DUMPING HAS RESUMED! Put things back in the correct place in the stock cupboard. Please have respect for the school and the people who have kindly tidied it.
• THANK YOU FOR IEPs Thank you for saving the IEPs in this years folder. There are still a couple of year groups yet to complete this, but thank you to those who have.
• READING EHCPs All teachers must read the EHCPs for the children in their class. Your teaching must reflect this and so should the targets on their IEPs. It is the class teacher's responsibility to teach all children, including those with SEND. They must differentiate appropriately and have the overall say of the IEPs. They must also meet and discuss with parents about IEPs. You need to know what the child is currently working on and why.
• FRIDAY FORUM Our new Friday Forum starts next week during achievement assembly and will be looking at Writing Revolution. Please meet in the staffroom and bring examples of the Writing Revolution to be shared.
• INSET FEEDBACK Please can all teachers click the course/visit feedback link below and let us know what they thought about the Mental Health Champion INSET.
• OPEN DAY THURSDAY prospective parents will be shown around our fabulous school by the school council again with a presentation by Mr Kemp at 9.30am.
• THANK YOU for the 'Remember Remember' Day... it was a day to remember! The children had a fabulous time and were even learning from underneath their tables. There were lots of creative teaching ideas that we love to see here at Parkfield. A special thank you to Mrs Bradwell for her fantastic organisation.
• TA READING DROP INS We'd like TA's to drop in on each other over the next month with a focus on reading. It maybe a reciprocal reading session or something linked to phonics. Decide which is most suitable for yourselves and arrange it between yourselves. Once complete, please fill in the staff drop in feedback form - link found below.
• STAFF MEETING IS ON TUESDAY and all teachers will have recieved an email with the information on.
