THANK YOU A huge thanks to each and everyone of you for your hard work over this past term. I know everyone is absolutely shattered and is looking forward to a well deserved break. The last 20 months have been incredibly difficult for staff in schools across the country. At Parkfield, you wouldn't know this because everyone has pulled together and showed what a great team we have at Parkfield. Thanks again and enjoy your Christmas.
JOE BARNES Joe - Best of luck in your new role. You've been a wonderful Parkfielder that has had a signiifcant impact on the lives of hundreds of Parkfielders. Thanks for being a great member of staff - you're going to be missed.
LANGUAGES From January, due to lack of staff expertise, we're going to be teaching French. If that doesn't go well - I have the contact of a chinese mate who can come in and deliver Mandarin lessons. Bonne Chance! (Good Luck)
PATRICK HALLISSEY Best of luck to Patrick that leaves us today and heads off to Marland Hill in January. Thanks for all your support in Y4 over the past term and good luck in your new role.
GEMMA WHALEN In the new year Gemma will be our Y6 teacher and as a result many of her roles will be delegated to either Marc or Jane. Gemma's priority will be Year 6. As a result, we're going to try and implement the following to keep Y6 running as smoothly as possible:
Do not disturb Gemma whilst in class with SEND related issues. See Jane/Marc or email Gemma if it's not urgent.
Gemma will continue as the named DSL but Jane and then Marc will be completing the work for that role. Please go to Gemma as a last resort.
Gemma will not be available for ad-hoc meetings with parents. Any meetings neccessary will be booked for after school.
Gemma will continue with English subject leader management time one morning a week to ensure that the subject continues to be developed effectively.
Be aware that Gemma will be spending her time before school setting up lessons. Unless urgent, speak to Marc or Jane or send an email.
Staff to open KS1/2 door - GW won't be there to open up in the mornings
Monday assemblies will be lead predominantly by MK
SCIENCE PLANNING FOR SPRING We are still waiting for Cornerstones to update the Science topics for Spring term. When they're available we'll let staff know. Hopefully it will be in the first week back. For those looking ahead, please continue with planning the investigations identified on the current long term plan,
DATA AND PUPIL PROGRESS MEETINGS Will be taking place in the first couple of weeks back - data has been handed out and copies of sheets will be emailed over to staff.
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS - WE NEED YOUR HELP! We would like to give our pupils a number of opportunities to attend a range of extra curricular clubs after school. If you're interested in running one over the Spring term - please let MK know as soon as possible. Some ideas: Board game club, lego club, podcasting, friendship club, writing club, maths problem solving club, singing, drama.
REMOTE LEARNING IN JANUARY? We have to mention it, but be aware that messages from the DfE/government suggest that if Omicron cases continue to rise there is a possiblity for a return to remote learning. I truly hope that this isn't the case but if anything changes, I'll let you know.
NATIVITIES Well done to all staff for putting on some great shows. Your time, effort and energy is much appreciated and the parents witnessed some great performances. Thanks again to all - it was well worth it!
DECORATIONS AND RETURN TO NORMAL SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT Don't leave today until the school looks perfect for coming back in January!

TWITTER Please keep on tweeting the amazing work you're doing.
COURSE FEEDBACK A reminder for all staff that if you attend a course (even via zoom) please can you complete the online form feeding back on how useful the course was. This is our way at school of tracking the impact of any training attended and also highlights what may need sharing with other staff in the school. The link is below but can also be found as a button near the bottom of every bulletin. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScAJYp2DQ8_3IF4CbUroJyoboOayyqBkiFv_BsFl3PWQQmQmA/viewform?usp=sf_link
LADDERS Putting up a display? Please make sure you’re using ladders and not chairs and tables.
Seen anything of a CONCERN? Please fill in the appropriate form in the staff room and hand in to the office as soon as possible.
Use CPOMS to record anything that is of a concern. However, if you feel it's significant and needs to be dealt with asap, please speak to Jane or Gemma.
If you see someone in school that you don't know - without a pass - please challenge them and ask them who they are!
Make sure you're always wearing a pass!
Remind children that staff have a blue pass and visitors have a sticker.
Keep completing these online forms to feedback on courses, trips, visits and drop ins. This includes visits to other schools, collaborative groups…etc. It helps us keep an impact on any CPD that takes place.
Mrs Whalen (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Steele (Deputy DSL)
If they're not available please see Mr Kemp.
