• CURRICULUM VISION I thought I'd share this again with everyone...it's something we all need to be aware of and something that we're all striving for: At Parkfield we are committed to provide a happy, safe and nurturing environment. Our vision is to provide pupils with an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum where all can access rich opportunities and experiences. Our high expectations ensure learners secure the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they will need for their next stage in learning and be good citizens in the wider world we live in.
• POETRY MORNING has been shared with teachers in today's Friday Forum. Thank you for such a positive meeting and if you need anything just speak to Mrs Whalen.
• ORDER REQUESTS If you want to put a requisition order in, please complete the appropriate form and then hand into the office. Where possible, please find the product in the catalogue so that the office know exactly what is being ordered. The office are going to only be ordering once/twice a week so make sure you plan ahead and don't expect same week/day delivery.
• ONLINE TRAINING Thanks to the 12 members of staff that have taken part in the online Prevent training. It looks like it takes an average of 22 minutes for staff to complete. If you are having any trouble logging in, please let MK know. I think you get a reminder sent each week with details to login.
• CODE OF CONDUCT - SAFER WORKING PRACTICE POLICY MK has emailed out an electronic copy to all members of staff. A reminder that once you have read and understood the document you must complete the online form found here: https://forms.gle/WAU5CZTvCq2XDwsf8
• WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PARKFIELDER? I want to highlight the key behaviours that our pupils and staff value at Parkfield above anything else. These will be used to replace/update the 'tagline' - Believe, Achieve, Succeed - which I feel is a little outdated and only reflects on one actual behaviour of 'believe'. The idea is to ensure that the ethos and values of the school are embedded within everything we do at the school and help drive school improvement. Rather than me coming up with some behaviours I'd like the views and ideas from others who are part of the school community - starting with staff and governors. • PARKFIELD PASSPORT UPDATES MK has sent the Parkfield Passports out to all teaching staff. Please update as you feel appropriate with the new curriculum. These are a working document and will change all the time. However, they're now displayed outside MK's office to highlight the journey our Parkfielders are on!
• SOUND SYSTEMS We have two brand new portable soundsystems. Thanks to the PTFA. These will be used for HIIT workout on KS2 and then KS1 in future!
• STAFF SING IN Please keep signing in when you come into school. A reminder that there's no need to sign out if you are leaving at the end of the day - only if you leave part way through the day. We have made the system easier for multiple people to sign in at the same time...just check more than one box when signing in.
• 'BOOK' PICTURE FRAMES Just a clarification: the picture frame on your door is for the 'Cornerstones' book that the children are currently learning in their English lessons. It will change at different times for each class, depending on what you are teaching in English.
• ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Just to make you aware, Jane's role has been tweaked and expanded slightly. She will still continue her great work with our families and to add to this pastoral role, Jane will be working more alongside Mrs Whalen to assist with SEND and our SEND team. She has already made a fantastic start to support our children, families and staff in this area this week and this will strengthen our offer for children with SEND needs as a school.
• MONITORING Mr Kemp and Mrs Whalen had a learning walk around school this week and the focus was Parkfield's learning environment. Thank you to those classes that we visited. the information we gathered was very useful and will feed in to a more-up-to-date learning environment policy that will be fed back after half term. We saw some wonderful examples of good practice that we hope to share. The policy will make expectations clear for each year group and be up-to-date with our new curriculum and learning. • RUTH MISKIN'S READ, WRITE INC. PHONICS Hollin are kindly allowing us to go and observe their lessons. Jane has arranged with them some dates for some EYFS/KS1 TAs to visit.
• VALENTINES DISCO Thanks to those that were able to support at either of the discos.
